Hello there! Beautiful woman who wants more out of life!
Yes, I’m talking to you!
In my 20 years as a psychologist, I’ve heard people say:
My anxiety is so overwhelming. It’s hard to imagine a day that I will ever feel better.
All day long, negative thoughts bring me down. They just run over, and over, and over in my head. I feel like the only one struggling. What’s wrong with me?
I feel so inadequate. Everyone else seems to have it together.
I thought I had it all, but I feel so empty and numb.
I went on the relaxing and peaceful vacation, but I do NOT feel peaceful, and I do NOT feel relaxed.
I feel like crap. Who would even want to be around me?
I can’t sleep! Everything I have to do runs through my head. Everything I can’t get done. Everything that makes me feel inadequate. Then I wake up tired and feel even worse.
There are so many horrible things going on in the world. I’m having trouble not letting it affect me.
Beautiful woman, I hear you. I understand you.
I’ve been there. And I can help.
I discovered the power of gratitude in 1994
with a simple cup of hazelnut coffee.
My vibrant fiance was battling cancer, and there was nothing left the doctors could do for him.
So for the last 42 days of his life, I celebrated his life with him at the hospital,
all while fearing and preparing for his death.
Each day, I didn't know:
if he would be able to open his eyes and look at me
if he’d be able to speak that day
what condition he’d be in, as I sat next to him and slept next to him, night after night
Each day, I didn't know if he was going to die that day
In those anxiety-provoking days that were filled with so much unpredictability and uncertainty,
I was able to find comfort in the one thing that was consistently predictable.
A cup of hazelnut coffee.
I could stretch my legs and walk down the seven flights of stairs to the café to purchase my cup of coffee,
or ask someone to get it for me when he did not want me to leave his side.
The aroma filled his hospital room and made it feel less sterile and more like home.
I wrapped my hands around the cup and the warmth comforted me.
That was 27 years ago.
Now I understand what my 26-year-old self didn’t understand.
I felt better with that cup of hazelnut coffee because
I was practicing gratitude.
I was so grateful for that cup of coffee during my very worst of days. It was all I had.
When the love of my life was dying and my dreams for the future dying with him, I was able to find comfort by being grateful for a simple cup of hazelnut coffee.
Gratitude is most powerful on our worst days.
That is worth repeating - Gratitude is most powerful on our worst days.
This is so simple, yet so powerful, and I want to share it with you.
And I want to share with you without you having to suffer like I did.
Here’s what I have learned in my 20 years as a psychologist and helping over 6,000 people.
People are suffering, and people need help.
People are feeling more lonely and disconnected than ever. Really lonely.
Symptoms of anxiety and depression are through the roof.
The pandemic has also resulted in a mental health crisis, and people need help.
Everyone is struggling in one way or another, and everyone is trying to hide it.
Everyone has the ability to practice gratitude.
Research in neuroscience demonstrates that practicing gratitude has a positive impact on the brain.
You can practice gratitude anywhere, any time of day, and all you need is your mind.
Practicing gratitude is a universal healer.
Gratitude heals.
Gratitude helps with mental health problems.
Practicing gratitude feels good in the moment and is a health-promoting activity that helps to decrease the frequency and intensity of episodes of depression and anxiety.
The scientist-psychologist in me just LOVES that this is backed by research. LOTS of research. And I’ll share that with you in the course, too.
I want to shout from the rooftops – “This I know is true. Gratitude heals!”
It’s time to learn about the healing power of gratitude and apply it to your life.
YOU have the power to make it happen.
YOU can decrease your symptoms of depression and anxiety.
YOU can stop your negative thoughts from spinning out of control.
YOU can stop worrying about whether or not life is ever going to get better.
You can ENJOY your life, even during a pandemic.
And the great part – it is SIMPLE, and it is FUN.
What we’ll cover in The Course in Gratitude.
Simple steps to forever change how you view your morning cup of coffee or tea.
How you can turn, “Is this all there is to life?” to “I love my life.”
Learn how a smile or glance at your spouse can change everything.
Relearning the simple joys of feeling the sun on your face,
or breathing heavily after a game of chase with your children.
How you can shut off those awful “what if” thoughts that keep you awake at night.
How you will forever change how you view the never-ending pile of laundry.
Gratitude for YOU! Because you believed your thoughts of “I suck” or “Everyone is better than me” and forgot how totally awesome you are.
Here is what some of my past gratitude students have had to say:
“I haven’t stopped speaking about what we learned with you to friends and family. Thank you, Peggy!!"
"It was most enjoyable. I needed something positive and this was it!"
"Touched our hearts, which encouraged me to show gratitude toward others today and a bigger way."
"So inspiring!"
"It really was an amazing event Peggy, and the expressions from everyone were so heartfelt."
"This work is electrifying!"
“Peggy DeLong is inspiring and informative at the same time. She’s in a word: brilliant.”
“Fantastic and really got my brain going.”
“I loved everything! Peggy has the most comforting, soothing voice.”
“The entire presentation was wonderful. I enjoyed the exercises and ideas I could use in my daily life.”
“I appreciate your honesty and openness. It helped me.”
“I loved your openness and warmth.”
“I benefited from you telling your story about your hazelnut coffee and you were able to still find gratitude when dealing with a personal tragedy.”
“It was so helpful – thank you for giving me all these ideas.”
“Your sincerity and trustworthiness are quite obvious and appreciated. I felt completely comfortable with you.”
We only get one shot at this thing called life.
Stop waiting. Make it your best life, starting NOW!
There is a way to experience joy, even on your crappiest of days.
I know.
I lived it.
I’ve researched it.
I’ve helped thousands of people experience more joy, less depression, and less anxiety.
I’ve taken out all of the guess work for you, and I’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide that not only feels good in the moment, but will have long-lasting benefits.
Just imagine being that person YOU know you can be.
Your best self.
The woman people want to be around.
The woman YOU want to be around.
You cannot heal what you do not address.
I’ll help you learn to enjoy the small things again.
